I DON'T LIVE IN GEORGIA. CAN I STILL WORK WITH YOU TO BOOK MY VACATION?


While I am based in Georgia, I can work with clients from anywhere in the United States! Our first meeting will be in person if you’re local to my area, or over a video call. From there, everything will be handled via email or phone. When it comes time to deliver your final documents, you’ll receive everything you need for your vacation in printed and electronic versions.

WHAT DOES IT COST TO WORK WITH SUNSET DESTINATIONS? WHEN DO I PAY FOR MY VACATION PACKAGE?


Due to the detailed and personalized nature of custom trip designs, a design fee is due after our consultation once you’ve decided to work with Sunset Destinations. You’ll receive an invoice via email for the design fee, and then the work will begin on creating your custom itinerary. Unfortunately, Sunset Destinations will not provide sample itineraries or proposals before a design fee is paid in order to protect the time, knowledge, and expertise that goes into each itinerary. Design fees are tailored to each itinerary, are non-refundable, and do not apply to the balance of your vacation package. Once you’ve selected a proposal that fits your vision, a deposit will be due according to the supplier’s contract and is dependent on the components of the trip and how soon you are departing.

 

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF WORKING WITH SUNSET DESTINATIONS?


Every client who chooses to work with Sunset Destinations to create their custom vacation is offered the following (and then some!):

  • A complimentary consultation where we dive into your ideal vacation, likes/dislikes, and get to know one another

  • One-on-one personalized support and service throughout the planning stages

  • Frequent check-ins, updates, and communication between deposit and travel

  • Custom-designed itinerary with all desired travel components, personalized trip notes, travel tips, and more

  • Bookings and arrangements made only with trusted travel partners

  • Final document package that includes everything needed for a seamless vacation, delivered approximately 2 weeks before departure

  • Attentive communication and assistance during travel

WHAT DOES A CUSTOM ITINERARY LOOK LIKE?


Not every traveler wants the same thing - those tired old top ten lists you find online? Nah. No thanks. Every itinerary is tailored specifically to the client. I’ve had many clients visit the same destination, and every itinerary was completely different. With so many options throughout the world, there is definitely a perfect fit for you - the trick is knowing where to look and how to make those special experiences come to life!

I’M A SOLO TRAVELER/WE’RE A COUPLE/WE’RE A FAMILY/I WANT TO TRAVEL WITH A BIG GROUP. CAN YOU PLAN AN ITINERARY FOR ME/US?


No matter how big or small your travel party is, Sunset Destinations is happy to help arrange the details.

HOW IS WORKING WITH A TRAVEL ADVISOR DIFFERENT FROM BOOKING MY OWN VACATION?


Do you take your car to the mechanic for service? Do you fill your own cavities or head to the dentist? Some stuff is best left to the pros, and travel planning is one of them! You’d think the internet would make travel planning easier, but all it does is make it more confusing and overwhelming. When you work with a professional travel advisor, you’re getting one-on-one service from someone who’s been there, done that, and has the industry connections to back it up. At the end of the day, a travel advisor saves you from spending valuable time, money, and energy on a vacation that may not be the best fit for you! You deserve the best vacation, and a big part of that is not having to stress over the details. In full transparency, if you’re someone who is well-traveled and enjoys DIY-ing your vacations, we may not be a good fit, but please reach out if you’d like to chat about it!

I FOUND AN ACTIVITY/VACATION IDEA ONLINE. CAN YOU ARRANGE IT FOR ME?
We work with vetted travel industry partners and suppliers who provide exceptional and reliable service. If you have a certain activity or vendor you wish to use, please let me know as I can often partner with them to gain the best outcome for all parties! As long as it appears to be a valid, safe, and responsible component to arrange for you, We'd be happy to do it.

WHEN SHOULD I CONTACT YOU TO START PLANNING MY VACATION?


Ideally, a minimum of 3 months before departure allows us enough time to design a custom itinerary and arrange the details. However, the further out, the better! Planning in advance allows for greater flexibility and availability for accommodations, excursions, flights, and more. Last-minute itineraries will be subject to increased design fees for rush service. If your timeline to travel is greater than 12 months out, we’ll stay in touch until availability is released by the vendors we work with and we’ll start designing your itinerary once we are able to do so.

WHAT COMPONENTS OF A TRIP DO YOU ARRANGE FOR ME?


You name it! Sunset Destinations works with select vendors to arrange the obvious stuff - flights, lodging, transfers, and travel insurance - but those extra little details are where the magic happens. Spa appointments, sporting events, dinner reservations, private tours, and more. As long as an activity or reservation is available, we'll make sure it makes its way into your itinerary.

I JUST NEED A FLIGHT BOOKED - CAN YOU DO THAT FOR ME?


Yes, but only in the event that you also need accommodations for a minimum of 3 nights. If you already have flights booked but need the rest of your itinerary created, we are happy to arrange the rest of your travel details for you!

I KNOW I WANT TO TRAVEL, BUT I HAVE NO CLUE WHERE I WANT TO GO.


The options can be overwhelming, but that’s what Sunset Destinations is here for! During our consultation, we’ll discuss your travel wishlist and desired budget to narrow down the list of potential destinations.

WHAT’S THE OVERALL PROCESS OF WORKING WITH SUNSET DESTINATIONS?


The short version looks like this:

  • We have our scheduled consultation call, and if we sound like a good fit, you agree to the design fee and sign the Sunset Destinations service agreement

  • Once the invoiced design fee is paid in full, the custom trip creation begins

  • We’ll work together to hone in on a personalized itinerary, and once it’s perfect, you’ll approve it and submit payment for deposit

  • Between deposit and departure, you have the ability to make payments on your trip package as you see fit up until the final payment deadline

  • We’ll stay in touch as the weeks and months pass, checking in on any details that need addressing via email or phone if needed

  • Approximately two to three weeks before departure, we’ll review your details one last time before you receive a printed and electronic version of your final documents

  • Throughout travel, myself or my partners within the destination will be available to guide and assist you as needed

  • After your trip, we'll reach out to see how it all went!

WHAT IF I WANT TO MAKE CHANGES TO MY BOOKING AFTER I’VE PAID THE DEPOSIT?


Once an itinerary has been chosen and confirmed with a deposit, any changes after that point will accrue a small fee for my time, as well as any vendor penalties or fees. You’ll be notified of these fees in writing prior to any changes being made. However, you can make changes to your proposal before deposit until it’s just right! In addition, we strongly encourage clients to work that “no thanks” muscle during our proposal period. If we present something to you that doesn’t feel right, please speak up! In the end, it saves us all a lot of time and energy, to be honest, and transparent with one another - and this is your vacation! This is a collaborative effort and we truly want the best vacation for you.

CAN I SEE AN ITEMIZED INVOICE FOR MY TRIP?


The invoice you receive will include a total for all components of your trip, as provided to Sunset Destinations by the supplier or vendor the package is booked with. However, itemized pricing is at the discretion of the supplier or vendor and is often confidential. You’ll be receiving incredible value and contracted prices through Sunset Destinations's partnerships with trusted vendors.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?


The cancellation policies among vendors vary widely and will always be transparent and shared with the client at the time of deposit. Please be sure to read through the fine print of your booking confirmation. Once a trip has been confirmed via deposit, any cancellation will be subject to vendor penalties and fees, as well as a small fee invoiced by Sunset Destinations. Trip insurance is always highly recommended in order to safeguard your travel investment.

DO YOU OFFER TRIP INSURANCE?
Unless a client specifically requests to not have trip insurance included in a proposal, every itinerary proposal will include trip insurance with a Cancel For Any Reason clause built into the pricing. While trip insurance is optional, it is strongly encouraged. If you wish to forego trip insurance, the policy and associated cost will be removed from your proposal before the deposit, and a waiver of declination will be sent to you for your signature. Due to specific laws governing the topic of advising on travel insurance, any insurance-specific questions must be directed to the company in charge of the policy.

WHY DID THE PRICE OF MY VACATION CHANGE BETWEEN THE PROPOSAL PERIOD AND THE DEPOSIT?


Unfortunately, pricing is constantly fluctuating, and a price that was quoted previously may not remain the same once you decide to deposit. This is outside of Sunset Destinations' control. In an attempt to remain transparent, all documents will be clearly labeled with the disclosure that “pricing and availability are subject to change until deposit.” Once you’ve locked into a vacation package with a deposit, your pricing is secured.
